A single act of courage throws out roots in all directions and these roots grow into new courage
I love spicing up my work with sources of inspiration. The other day I came across this quote from Amelia Earhart, the American aviation pioneer and author: “A single act of kindness throws out roots in all directions, and the roots spring up and make new trees. I love this quote. It immediately inspired me to make a comparison with courage.
This is exactly the way in which I see people being able to grow and develop their courage. Just one single courageous act, be it big or small, is needed to get started. One single act that gives us the confidence to get out and make things happen. By doing so we plant the first seeds for those courage roots to start growing. We provide water & nutrients necessary for those roots to thrive.
This is when beautiful things start to happen.
The fascinating thing is that that those roots give us the power to create new directions, possibilities and opportunities for ourselves. They enable us to join the courageous people making things happen, instead of just sitting and watching on the side lines.
Once those courage roots start to grow the “new“ becomes possible. New courage, new learning, new growth, new experiences! This is how we are able to venture out of our comfort zone and push ahead. This is where our fear slowly starts to fade. This is where courage, energy and moving forward take over. This is where creation becomes the norm.
So yes it is about that single act, but NOT only! It is also about continuing to nurture those courage roots. It is about having the discipline to not give up. It is about watching out for new opportunities to throw out more roots so that the “new”can continue to thrive.
In order to support you to act courageously and to move forward in your career, we have developed the master class “A Year Full of Courage” and the concept of the “ "The Courage Wheel to Move Forward". Let’s talk about how I can help you. Contact
